Filtering your inbox for the first time.
Now that SpamKiller is up and running, you should see the main window on your screen:
This is where you'll add and edit accounts, preview e-mail messages, adjust the program settings, and so on. For now, we'll just check your e-mail once.
First, make sure that you are connected to the Internet. (SpamKiller can dial up automatically for you, but for the sake of this test, you should connect the way you usually do.)
Once you're connected, click on the Check button in the toolbar. SpamKiller will read the messages currently in your inbox and display them, much like your e-mail program.
Unless your inbox was empty, you should hear one or more sounds play, and your e-mail program should start automatically. This means that SpamKiller has finished filtering your e-mail, and that can download the remaining messages with your e-mail program, just as you usually do.
