Open the Backup Software on Windows through the Notification Area

Prerequisite: If you use Windows 8, you must use the Desktop app to see the notification area. To open the Desktop app, click the Desktop tile.

The Windows notification area provides icons to quickly access programs such as the McAfee Online Backup backup software. The Windows notification area is often referred to as the system tray and is generally located in the lower-right corner of your desktop, next to the clock.

In the notification area, right-click the McAfee Online Backup backup software icon, . If you do not immediately see the McAfee Online Backup icon in the notification area, click the up arrow, .
Choose any of the following options:
- To open the Status window, click Status.
- To open the Settings window, click Settings > More Settings.
- To open any other windows or change some settings quickly, click the appropriate option in the menu.
